About a week ago or so a lot of you saw my thread about not smoking. !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!!

Well, it's been a week. And a good one. I don't smoke. Best three words ever.

So what to do with the money instead? Well, let me introduce you to a new piggy bank par excellence, especially for the compulsive spender. This is a hollow sphere that is 3/16 thick and about 10" across. It is made of a very heavy and high strength steel alloy (stainless, possibly) that is corrosion proof and designed for high temp high pressure applications. Took ten minutes with a cutoff disc to get the slot into it for money.

Impossible to get into easily without generating enough heat to destroy the money inside.

Will take a bath in liquid nitrogen and a very careful hammer and punch to do this one in. Not easy to do. Perfect for a long term mad money storage facility.

Every week or so I'm going to throw in some of what I would have smoked. When the time comes, it will come in handy. Mod money? Vacation? Who can say.

At any rate. Thanks to everyone who chimed in on the initial thread with such good advice.

I think the money factor is a thing that can keep him going without smoking, unless he was addicted to it, then it may be difficult

That is a really cool piggy bank. Maybe you can take some money from the first week, and get some fire retardant paper that you can wrap the money with a band or some tape. That way you could possibly use a cutter. or you can drill a hole in it by tilting it and stuffing fire retardant paper to make sure the money doesn't burn (a solution best done early so you can have as much paper in-between the money and the heat.) You might be able to seal off the hole and drill it in some super cold water in a container.

Be more specific about what kind of alloy this is. Where'd you get it?

Bills are supposed to be water proof. So, once you kicked the habit for good and you want to open your 316L (educated guess) steel piggy bank, flood it first.

Most important 3 words ever.......I don't smoke.

Sounds like you got to the place where cold turkey is a bitch, but you don't smoke....so there is no reason why you would light one up.

I quit 14 years ago...the urge will never entirely go away... *but you don't smoke* so it's all good.

This ought to get into the bank pretty quick when you're ready. You could fill it up w/ water and slosh it around real good to get all the money moist, and then pop that sucker open with a quickness.

Yeah if my mom is any indication the first week isn't the worst of it. I think a month in I was avoiding her because she would flip out at absolutely nothing.
